In 2017, two friends, Victoria Longoria and Haris Medina-Guess, organized a house show to raise funds for a coffee origin trip to Guatemala. The experience provided the pair with invaluable knowledge about the production of coffee and those responsible for each stage of the process. Three years later, Haris and Victoria are teaming up to help other coffee professionals attend the same multi-regional coffee tour in La Antigua, Guatemala.

“The trip and people I met totally changed the trajectory of my life and I’m better because of the education I received and the opportunities I was given.” says Haris.

Beginning January 31st, the pair will be hosting a series of three collaborative house shows featuring some of Lakeland and Tampa’s most celebrated artists and musicians. The shows will act as a fundraiser for those attending the Guatemala origin trip, with 100% of the proceeds being donated entirely to the attendees. Sporting 14 diverse musical acts, each house show is specially curated to showcase a specific group of local musicians and their original music. Art from The Colibri Project, Bill Dunlap, Charlie Reese, and more — will also be available for purchase each evening.

Hillcrest Coffee, a craft coffee shop dedicated to hosting live music each week in Lakeland, Florida, will be hosting the final Origin show on February 9th.

Specialty s’mores from S’mores is My Favorite Sandwich will be available on Hancock (Night 1) and Eastway (Night 2) on a donation basis as well as Pressure Brew (coffee) from Commune + Co for any sober or underage guests.
